Does Netflix have porn? Well, technically no. You won’t the type of porn on Netflix that you’d see on Pornhub or Brazzers. But there’s plenty of real-life sex to be enjoyed on the streaming platform.

Since the debut of cinema, people have been arguing over where the line between pornography and art begins and ends. There are countless films that thrive in that gray area, pushing the boundaries of decency in the name of storytelling. And, thanks to Netflix, you can watch many of them the comfort of your home.

Here are the dirtiest movies on Netflix, broken into two categories for your viewing pleasures.

Porn on Netfix: Movies with unsimulated sex

These films feature real-life sex. Not people rubbing merkins on one another or bobbing their heads above laps. Actual real-life sex. One of the things youll notice on this list is the films with the most graphic content tend to be sad as hell. Apparently, frowning is one of the things that make a film art instead of pornography.

Starlet(2012)

This drama about a 21-year old who befriends an 85-year-old woman she meets at a yard sale features Dree Hemingway, the great-great-granddaughter of Ernest Hemingway. It also features an actual XXX sex scene, with porn star Zoe Voss acting as the body double. This is a fine indie drama, and if youre a prude, its worth fast forwarding through the sex to catch the whole story.

Netflix

Nymphomaniac Vol 1&Nymphomaniac Vol 2(2013)

Lars von Triers controversial experimental drama about a woman with sex addiction is a deeply dark, soul-crushing film. Von Trier actually filmed real porn stars having sex, but then he digitally placed their genitals onto the bodies of actors like Charlotte Gainsbourg or Shia Labeouf. Lars von Trier is a brilliant filmmaker, but his movies are not for general audiences. No amount of sex could make this movie not sad.

Netflix

Blue Is the Warmest Color(2013)

Of the films featuring unsimulated sex scenes on Netflix,Blue Is the Warmest Colour is easily the best. It’s a legitimately artistic film that features a slow-burn love story between two young women. Starting when our heroine Adle is 15 and following her through the next decade as she chases an older woman named Emma, this three-hour-long drama is more than just a collection of graphic sex scenes: Its a rumination on the complications of love that happens to earn its NC-17 rating.

Wetlands(2013)

Eighteen-year-old Helen Memel likes to skateboard, masturbate, and mess with social taboos surrounding her body. After a shaving accident sends her to the hospital, her insane adventures truly begin. This dark comedy has earned an 89-percent fresh ranking on Rotten Tomatoes, thanks to its blend of shock value and sweetness. While the film is graphic, theres no real simulated sex, until one horrific scene involving four men and a pizza. If you have a strong stomach and a dark sense of humor, this film is highly recommended.

Rotten Tomatoes

Antichrist(2009)

Lars von Triers haunting masterpiece of art-house horror is a profoundly cruel film. A couple mourning the horrific death of their baby retreats to an isolated cabin in the woods to work through their demons. Theres an unsimulated sex scene that was filmed similarly to the ones in Nymphomanic, meaning you wont be watching Willem Dafoes Dafoe, but this isnt a film to get your rocks off too.

Rotten Tomatoes

Kink(2013)

If youve ever wanted to pull back the sheets on the world of BDSM fetish porn, kink is your film. This documentary showcases kink.com, a global leader in bondage and sadomasochism pornography. While it doesnt feature much in the way of traditional pornography, theres plenty of kink and BDSM footage spread across its 80 minutes. Who knows, you may even learn something about yourself.

Rotten Tomatoes

Interior. Leather Bar. (2013)

Interior. Leather Bar. is easily the most pretentious film on this list, but given the lack of steamy gay options on Netflix, its inclusion is important. Directed by James Franco and Tavis Mathews, this meta film-within-a-film centers around 40-minutes of footage that was cut out of the 1980s Al Pacino film Cruising. Cut due to being considered too sexually graphic, the footage was lost to time. Here Franco and crew set out to recreate the footage, unsimulated sex acts and all. There are serious pacing issues here, along with a terrible Al Pacino impression, but theres no other film on Netflix that shows unsimulated gay male sex. From BDSM to oral to leather and even foot worship, few kinks are left on the table when the credits run. You just have to sit through a lot of James Franco talking about the movie to see it.

Porn on Netflix: The dirtiest of the rest

These films dont need to show you actual sex to push the boundaries of what’s allowed on the screen. Oddly enough these films tend to be way more fun than the films that are allowed to show actual sex.

Room in Rome(2010)

A Room in Rome may not feature specifically unsimulated sex, but its easily the sexiest film on this list. Equal parts erotic comedy and mildly pretentious art film, this film tells the story of two women having a one-night stand with one another. Between rounds, in bed, the women slowly tell each other about their respective life stories, but the question remains if their stories are as fleeting as their one-night stand. Beautifully directed by Julio Medem, this is the film is far better than its late-night cable premise would lead you to believe.

Rotten Tomatoes

Y Tu Mam Tambin(2001)

This erotic comedy is a coming-of-age story that centers around two young men on a road trip with a sexually liberated and unmarried woman. Along the way, there might be some graphic sex. Starring a young Gael Carcia Bernal and directed by Children of Men and Gravitys Alfonso Cuaron, theres a great deal of emotional depth to be found in this odd tale of personal growth. Swinging wildly from gross-out humor to erotic drama to a tale of two boys becoming men, its hard to pin the film down. Still, the incredible direction and brilliant acting by the three main leads come highly recommended.

Rotten Tomatoes

Basic Instinct(1992)

Paul Verhoeven shoots sex the way Michael Bay shoots military hardware. Upon its release,Basic Instinct was protested for being deeply sexist and possibly homophobic. At the bare minimum, its certainly sexist. Its also a hell of a lot of fun in an absurd, trashy noir way. From its infamous fuck of the century scene to Sharon Stones legendary interrogation, Basic Instinct is one of the premier sexual thrillers of the ’90s for a reason. Yes, its trash. But its incredible trash.

Netflix

Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love (1996)

With a title like Kama Sutra, you may be expecting far more porn in this title than youll actually find. Rather than an over-the-top sex fest, Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love is a heartfelt romantic drama that punctuates its story with absurdly hot love scenes. Set in 16th-century India, Kama Sutra follows the romantic rivalry of Princess Tara and her maid Maya, former childhood friends who each fall in love with the King Raj Singh. Winner of the Independent Spirit Award for Best Cinematography, this erotic drama is as gorgeous as it is sensual.

Summertime (2015)

This romantic lesbian drama almost sounds like a parody of French art films. In 1971, Carole, a Paris based Spanish teacher and feminist, falls in love with Delphine, the daughter of two rural farmers. When Delphine returns home to care for her sick father, Carole follows her, bringing with her a new set of problems for the couple. The sex scenes are tender and passionate, with ample nudity thrown in throughout, but thats secondary to the surprisingly beautiful story. This material could easily get heavy-handed, but director Catherine Corsini, who also wrote the script with Laurette Polmanss, has crafted a love story worth remembering long after you stop looking for nudity on Netflix.
