On the remote glacial lagoons of Patagonia, the critically endangered Hooded Grebe (< em> Podiceps gallardoi ) performs a mesmerizing mating dance that has been caught on movie for the very first time.

The categories was simply discovered by humans 43 years ago, but had now become critically endangered ever since a few American Minks (< em> Neovison vison )– who were introduced to Patagonia for commercial-grade wool make in the 30 s–escaped and created disruption on the ill-prepared chicks.

The footage was filmed for the documentary, Tango in the Wind . You can read more about the bird and keep project here.
